Jack and John, after a bit of fun on a Sunday afternoon, walked into that trendy restaurant to just relax a bit and no more.
But when they found a table with four chairs but occupied by only two women, their natural habits kicked off.
“Ah,” murmured Jack, “perhaps we are lucky”.
“Perhaps, but let’s not try too hard like last time,” cautioned John. They had made asses of themselves so many times trying to impress women, that Jack wasn’t exactly sure which instance was being referred to. But overall, he was in agreement with the sentiment.
As it always seem to happen with pairs, one of the women was gorgeous, while the other looked just average.
“Now,” said Jack, “who tries to impress whom?”
“Let’s be fair. We flip a coin”
The flipping happened – the winner would ask the pretty woman for a date, while the loser would need to content with the average one.
Jack won. John just shrugged.
“Hi, I’m Jack,”
“And I’m John”
Ava (the beauty) & Mia (the Ok one) did not exactly seem to mind the fact that the two men considered a table with two empty chairs to be better than one with four.
As it seems to happen almost always, one was a beauty, and the other
They both approach the table and start talking to the women.
For the first few minutes, the average looking woman talks. She talks about some interesting and fun stuff and John doesn’t actually regret his having lost the toss – she appeared to be an interesting lady.
The pretty woman starts talking. She talks about environment protection, the need for the fight against climate change, and how everyone should be prepared to sacrifice a whole lot in order to save the world.
Jack suddenly looks at his watch and says, “Oh my god, I completely forgot that today is my wife’s birthday”.
And vanishes.
