It took some real ingenuity on the part of their planners to get the two extremists gain entry into the home of the country’s president.

And from there on, it did not take much to reach right next to the President’s room.

They still could not believe they were within a few meters from the most powerful man in the country. All they had to do was to step in, and follow some simple rules of kidnapping, and they should be in the car waiting outside with the president bundled along with them.

From where they were, while they could not see the President, they could hear what he was saying.

The President was talking to his chief scientific advisor, considered a global expert on climate change. The advisor was telling the President that due to climate change, most of the world would be destroyed within a week.

“A week!” exclaims the president. “I thought we had at least a few decades.”

“No sir. This is still a top secret, but a week is all we have. The CO2 concentration in our atmosphere is way too high. We are all gone after a week.”

“Oh my god,” says the President, “can’t we do something?”

“I’m afraid not, sir. The time is up for all of us in this earth”

The two extremists looked at each other, alarmed. The world was going to end in a week, and here they were, planning to kidnap a president.

What a useless activity. They motion to each other silently and slip away.

Inside the President’s room, the President and the advisor, old friends and drama mates from school, wrap up their rehearsal for the drama they were going to act in a couple of days.
